Academician Zhu Yizhun Assumes Presidency of AASP
Recently, the 12th Asian Association of Schools of Pharmacy (AASP) Conference concluded with great success in Japan, bringing together over 500 pharmaceutical professionals from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania to discuss the development of traditional pharmaceutical research and education in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). Academician Zhu Yizhun, Associate Vice President of Macau University of Science and Technology and Founding Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Medicine, assumed the role of AASP Chair for the next term. This marks the first time a Macau scholar has served as AASP Chair and represents a significant milestone in the recognition of Macau’s pharmaceutical education and research across Asia.

The Asian Association of Schools of Pharmacy (AASP) was established in April 2001, with member institutions comprising faculties of pharmacy and independent pharmaceutical universities from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Iran, New Zealand, Australia, the United States, and China. AASP is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to serving its member institutions and promoting the advancement of pharmaceutical education and research in the Asia-Pacific region. Academician Zhu Yizhun’s assumption of the chairmanship will strengthen cooperation and engagement between Macau University of Science and Technology and AASP, jointly advancing the development and progress of the Asian pharmaceutical industry, and marks an excellent beginning for the further internationalization of MUST’s pharmaceutical programs. More than ten faculty and staff members from MUST’s Faculty of Chinese Medicine attended this prestigious conference.
